Want outstanding dental health?  Just take a seat.

Sitting in the dentist’s chair twice a year is a great way to keep ahead of oral health problems.

Cronulla Beach Dental

Regular check-up and clean visits let you optimise your smile without spending thousands on lengthy treatments. And you get to enjoy that newly-polished freshness every time.

The very thought of a dental filling can make you concerned…

But you’ve got a sore or decaying tooth and the potential for further damage is significant. If you don’t do something about it soon, the only solution will be extraction, and that in itself will require subsequent treatments. Understandably you’re feeling nervous about the whole thing.

Cronulla Beach Dental

Our tooth fillings can be performed using sleep dentistry – which will see you, through IV sedation, experience a deep state of calm, or even drift off to sleep. This procedure and the dental filling cost can be paid for using our interest-free finance plans.

Wake up to a new world of comfort

If you’re an anxious patient, you never have to endure dental treatment stress again.

Cronulla Beach Dental

Sleep dentistry lets you drift through your visit in dreamy, comfortable and safe relaxation. You might even catch yourself looking forward to dentist visits.

What is a Dental Crown?

A dental crown is a custom-made cap that restores a broken, cracked, or decayed tooth.

Crafted from durable porcelain or zirconia, it not only protects your damaged tooth but also blends naturally with your surrounding teeth, ensuring a seamless, beautiful smile.

Dental crowns are a long-term solution to improve both the function and appearance of your teeth while supporting your overall oral health.

They can also be paired with bridges to strengthen multiple teeth. The dental crown colour matches your natural teeth, so there’s no need to hide your smile.

It will give you back the confidence to show it off!

What is Composite Bonding?

Composite bonding, also known as dental bonding, is a popular cosmetic dental procedure designed to enhance the appearance of your teeth. It involves the use of a tooth-coloured resin, a durable material that is carefully applied to the surface of your tooth to fix imperfections such as chips, cracks, or minor misalignments.

This composite bonding resin is matched to the natural shade of your teeth and expertly moulded to create a flawless, smooth finish. Once applied, the material is hardened using ultraviolet light, bonding securely with your tooth. Afterwards, it is polished and shaped to ensure a natural look that blends seamlessly with your smile.

One of the major advantages of composite bonding is its simplicity and convenience. Unlike more invasive dental procedures, composite bonding can usually be completed in a single appointment without the need for anaesthesia or drilling. It’s an effective, affordable solution that improves both the function and aesthetics of your teeth, helping you regain confidence in your smile. If you're looking for a minimally invasive way to refresh your smile, composite bonding offers a quick and cost-effective option that leaves you with a natural, long-lasting result.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are a long-term solution for replacing missing teeth, designed to look and function like your natural teeth.

The process involves placing a small titanium screw into your jawbone, which acts as the root of your missing tooth. Over time, your bone fuses with the implant, creating a stable foundation.

Once healed, a custom-made artificial tooth is attached, seamlessly matching the shape and colour of your existing teeth.

This two-step process is essential for ensuring that the implant is secure and functions just like a natural tooth.

Dental implants are strong enough to handle normal biting and chewing, giving you full functionality.

Feel like you’re fading into the background?

A dull, flat smile can have you feel like that. Years of coffee drinking, certain medications, and the sneaky red wine or two, can see your teeth turn yellow over time, and your confidence waiver.

Cronulla Beach Dental

Fortunately, our teeth whitening treatments - in chair, or with our take home teeth whitening gel kits, will have your teeth whiter and your smile beaming and brighter.

What are Porcelain Veneers?

At Cronulla Beach Dental, porcelain veneers are one of the standout treatments in our cosmetic dentistry offerings.

These thin, tooth-coloured porcelain shells are custom-made to fit perfectly over the front surface of your teeth, transforming the appearance of discolourations, chips, gaps or misshapen teeth.

Veneers provide a long-lasting, natural-looking solution that enhances your smile's beauty and boosts your confidence.

Durable and aesthetically pleasing, porcelain veneers are an affordable way to achieve that flawless, movie-star smile you’ve always wanted.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a system that allows you to straighten your teeth without the inconvenience of traditional braces.

Invisalign trays are barely visible, and thanks to state-of-the-art materials, they are a lot more comfortable than metal braces. So you don’t need to worry about how you will look. And you don’t need to worry about the hassle of broken wires - because Invisalign is completely wire-free!

    Dental Crown Procedure

Getting a dental crown is a simple and comfortable process that takes just two appointments. During your first visit, Dr Daley will carefully prepare your tooth by gently removing the outer surface and shaping it to fit the new crown.

You'll receive a local anaesthetic in the gum to ensure you stay comfortable throughout the procedure. Then, we'll take an impression (or mould) of your teeth and match the crown's colour to your surrounding teeth for a natural, seamless appearance.

Before you leave, you'll be fitted with a temporary plastic crown to protect your tooth. At your second appointment, Dr Daley will place your custom crown using dental cement or adhesive.

Your new dental crown will not only restore the appearance of your tooth but also bring back its full function. You'll walk in with a tooth you're not happy with and leave with a smile you can be proud of!

    How Long Does Composite
    Bonding Last?

The longevity of composite bonding largely depends on how well you care for your teeth. On average, composite bonding can last 8-10 years, but its durability is closely tied to your oral hygiene and habits. While no special maintenance is required for bonded teeth, maintaining excellent oral care is essential to keep the bonding in top condition.

To prolong the life of your composite bonding, it’s essential to brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste and floss at least once a day. Keep in mind that the composite resin used in bonding is not as strong as your natural teeth, so it’s wise to avoid chewing on hard items like pens or fingernails and stay away from particularly tough foods and lollies. If you regularly smoke or consume coffee, be aware that these habits can stain your bonded teeth, so limiting them—especially in the first two days after your procedure—will help keep your smile bright.

Additionally, scheduling regular dental cleanings every six months is key to keeping your bonded teeth healthy and looking their best. It’s also helpful to limit sugary drinks like soft drinks, fruit juices, and sports drinks, as these can lead to tooth decay and erosion. By making these small changes to your routine, you’ll not only protect your bonded teeth but also maintain a healthier, brighter smile overall. For personalised advice on composite bonding or exploring other cosmetic dental options, talk to Dr Daley today. He can guide you through the best treatments to enhance your smile and help you achieve long-lasting results.

    Dental Tooth Implant Procedure

There are three stages to dental implant treatment. First, the implant surgery - where Dr Daley gently and precisely places the titanium post into the jaw - takes around 1 to 2 hours. And IV sedation means you can sleep comfortably right through it.

The next part is the healing phase, which can take between 3 to 6 months. A healing cap or ‘abutment’ is placed over the top of the implant straight after surgery and stays there until the jaw bone and gums fully heal.

Once they have, it’s time to fit your new permanent tooth crown. To make sure your crown fits properly, this stage is done across two appointments a couple of weeks apart. At the first appointment, we check that the titanium post has fused with the jaw bone, and we take an impression of the implant.

The impression is sent to our local, specialised laboratory, where a dental technician carefully hand-crafts a crown to fit your implant - and your smile - perfectly. At the second appointment, the crown is fitted and you can see the results you’ve been waiting for.

    How do porcelain veneers work?

Porcelain veneers are custom-made for each patient, designed to fit perfectly over your natural teeth. A common misconception is that extensive grinding is needed to place veneers, but in reality, only minimal reshaping is required—depending on your individual dental needs.

The process for getting porcelain veneers is simple and comfortable. On your first visit, we’ll discuss your smile makeover goals and use 3D digital design to create a preview of your new smile. During your second appointment, we’ll gently shape the surface of your teeth for a perfect porcelain veneer fit.

To keep you comfortable we offer local anaesthetic, and for those feeling anxious, sleep dentistry is available for a more relaxed experience. We’ll then take a mould of your teeth, which our skilled technicians use to custom-make your veneers from high-quality porcelain.

At your final visit, we’ll clean and prepare your teeth before attaching the veneers with skilled precision. The result is a flawless, natural-looking smile that blends seamlessly with your other teeth. Once you see your new porcelain veneers, you won’t be able to stop smiling!

    How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign works the same way as braces; your teeth are gradually moved to create the straight smile you want. But the process is much more comfortable and convenient because you can take your Invisalign trays out whenever you want.

Unlike braces, you won’t have metal brackets attached to your teeth with strong adhesive. Instead, Dr Daley will create customised, see-through aligner trays for you to wear each day. Digital scanning technology tailors your trays for your exact needs and keeps you on track to your desired outcome.

Once you’ve started, you will receive new aligner trays every two weeks. Dr Daley will use special software to track your progress by taking precise measurements at regular intervals. This industry-leading technology means Dr Daley can ensure each new set of aligners advances you towards your dream result. This is in line with Dr Daley’s overall no-guesswork, meticulous approach to cosmetic dentistry.

Invisalign uses SmartTrack (™), which is a unique material engineered to follow your gumline perfectly. And - unlike some other transparent brace options - that means you can expect absolute comfort against your gums.

Also, unlike old-fashioned braces, you can remove your Invisalign trays and enjoy eating, brushing and flossing without discomfort or mess. As long as you wear them for 20-22 hours each day, the system will work. That means if you have a special occasion you’d like to attend without them, you can leave them at home.

Precision-Placed Dental Crowns for a Natural Fit

As your dentist in Cronulla, we take great care to ensure precision when applying your dental crown. We focus on preserving your natural tooth structure, keeping your bite comfortably aligned, and matching the crown seamlessly to your surrounding teeth. The result? A perfectly fitted dental crown that enhances your smile naturally and beautifully.

Experienced Dentists Offering Long-Lasting Dental Crowns

Your damaged tooth and smile are in expert hands with Dr Daley. Our experienced team has completed thousands of dental crown procedures, ranging from straightforward to more complex cases.

We understand that your oral health needs are unique—from broken teeth to post-root canal treatment—so we take the time to assess your specific situation and provide the treatment that’s best for you.

Our goal is to ensure you get long-lasting, effective dental crown results tailored to your individual needs.

Premium Materials for Durable, Natural-Looking Dental Crowns

At our clinic, we use only premium quality materials like porcelain and zirconia to create your dental crown. These materials are chosen for their durability and their ability to mimic the natural look of your teeth. Porcelain is perfect for front teeth because it blends beautifully with your smile, where there’s less grinding and pressure. For your back teeth, we recommend zirconia crowns since they offer extra strength to handle the tougher work of chewing. This way, you get the best of both worlds—longevity, functionality, and a natural, polished look.

    FAQs

When is it a dental emergency?
    iconicon
If you are experiencing severe pain in your mouth, jaw or teeth - no matter what the cause -  you should treat it as an emergency.

There are many things that can cause severe oral pain. Sport or transport accidents, infections, or even just biting too hard on an olive pit. Either way, you should always take acute pain seriously.

If you are bleeding severely, or think you might have broken a bone, you should go to a hospital. But if you are not sure, please call dentist in cronulla. We can help you decide where to get the help you need.
How much is emergency dental treatment?
    iconicon
Your emergency visit will cost the same as a standard appointment - $70. But if you need some more complex treatment - like a dental crown, or a composite filling - it may cost more. Dr Daley is always completely honest and transparent. As soon as he has assessed what kind of treatment you need, he will tell you how much it will cost. When you call to tell us what your emergency is, we will also be able to discuss options.

In any case, flexible payment plans mean you can get the emergency care you need on the spot and pay comfortably over time.

    FAQs

How much is a dental check up?
    iconicon
A standard check-up and clean costs $238. If it’s your first visit to Cronulla Beach Dental, you can take advantage of Dr Daley’s Signature New Patient Check and Clean service for $245.
How long does a dental check up take?
    iconicon
A standard dental check up and clean will take about 40 minutes. For new patients, Dr Daley takes a little longer so he can get to know you, thoroughly inspect your teeth, and put together a personal, prioritised plan for you.
What does a dental check up and clean include?
    iconicon
A standard dental check-up includes a comprehensive oral exam, a thorough clean, and a strengthening fluoride treatment. X-rays are taken if required. The New Patient Check and Clean includes all of these services as well as a cancer screen, and a complete dental health plan tailored to your specific needs.
How often should you have a dental check up?
    iconicon
We’re so glad you asked! To keep your teeth in the best shape, you should have a check up every six months. That allows us to catch any small problems before they get big. But don’t take our word for it - read what the Australian Dental Association says here.
What health funds do you accept?
    iconicon
Cronulla dentists accept all major health funds and have HICAPS so you can claim your appointment fee on the spot. Just bring your health fund card along with you on the day.

    FAQs

    What are dental fillings?
    iconicon
As per their name, dental fillings are designed to ‘fill’ cavities or holes in teeth, such that further bacteria can not erode the tooth at a deeper level. They also prevent the need for root canal treatment or worse – tooth extraction.
What does a dental filling look like?
    iconicon
Our composite resin tooth filling will be colour-matched to the tooth and the surrounding teeth, such that it blends in seamlessly when bonded to your teeth. The same is the case for porcelain material.
How much does a tooth filling cost?
    iconicon
Our composite dental fillings start from $185 per tooth, whereas our porcelain fillings are priced from $1,200. We’ve written a piece on the differences in prices and materials of dental fillings.
Should I be worried about tooth sensitivity after filling treatment is complete?
    iconicon
Any tooth pain or sensitivity typically resolves after two days, and any mild discomfort can be treated with over-the-counter medication. Please contact us if you experience significant or visit cronulla dentists if pain continue.
How long do tooth fillings last?
    iconicon
With proper care a composite dental filling can last up to 10 years, whereas a porcelain filling – significantly longer due to the strength of material.

    FAQs

    What is sedation for dental?
    iconicon
Sedation refers to a type of medication that helps you feel calm or go to sleep. At Cronulla Beach Dental, we use IV sedation, delivered by expert sedationists to ensure absolute safety and comfort.
Do you feel pain when sedated?
    iconicon
You won’t feel any discomfort, and, with IV sedation, you won’t even remember your treatment. Depending on the type of sedation, you will either drift into a very calm state, or into a deep sleep.  And you will wake up when your treatment is finished.
Can I drive home after sedation?
    iconicon
Sedation may make you a little drowsy for the rest of the day. So don't operate heavy machinery or drive for 24 hours after treatment. We will discuss this with you before your treatment and make sure you have a friend or family member take you home.

Three steps to leaving dental fear in the past

Prepare the tooth, take a mould

Dr Daley will take a mould of the tooth to be crowned (which will be given to our expert Australian-based technicians to handcraft your custom crown), and then place a temporary ‘interim’ crown.

Smile, eat and use your teeth, as normal

Your new dental crown or dental bridge will see your tooth preserved (or gap filled via the dental bridge) and your oral health restored, providing you brush and floss twice daily, and see us twice yearly, or as per Dr Daley’s advice.

Three steps to reclaim your smile

Book a consultation or discuss during your six-monthly check up

We will talk about the possibility of composite resin veneers for you as part of your check-up-and-clean, or if you’re not due for this – as a separate consultation.

    One treatment appointment, immediate results

Dr Daley will apply and then shape the tooth coloured resin to the natural teeth/tooth requiring composite veneers. This resin will then be dried with UV light, and finalised. No back and forth – all done in one.

Leave with a restored smile and new confidence

Smile again at your own reflection, and leave our clinic feeling and looking like your best self.

    FAQs

Is this teeth whitening treatment safe?
    iconicon
Yes, if used by or under the guidance of dentists. You can read more about the Zoom treatment we use for teeth whitening here.
What are the risks or side effects?
    iconicon
You might experience some gum or tooth sensitivity during (which Dr Daley will mitigate) or after treatment. Store-bought teeth-whitening kits increase risk of injury given people might swallow the bleaching gel during application, and irritate their gums or stomach. It is always best to perform teeth whitening under dental guidance.
How white will my teeth get?
    iconicon
Dentist in Cronulla use medical-grade bleaching gel through the Zoom system, which advises patients can reach up to eight shades whiter. We always recommend the most natural and complimentary shade.
How long does teeth whitening last?
    iconicon
Teeth whitening treatments will last up to 12 months or more, providing you follow our after-care recommendations, which include minimising or adjusting the way you consume certain types of food or drinks (eg. drink coffee or red wine through a straw).
Does teeth whitening work if I have a crown or veneers?
    iconicon
No unfortunately, as teeth whitening treatment is only designed to whiten naturally occuring tooth enamel.
    What causes teeth discolouration?
    iconicon
Lifestyle choices such as smoking, certain dark coloured food or drinks - beetroot, turmeric, coffee, red wine, and some medications, can cause discolouration or can turn teeth yellow.
What should I look for if I want the best teeth whitening result possible?
    iconicon
Ensure the dental clinic (not a pop-up shopping centre ‘booth’) has a long history of teeth whitening, ask what products they use, ask to see some before and after photos, and also ensure they’re using professional-grade whitening gel. You don’t want to be paying dental costs for application of store-bought product.

While the focus of a smile makeover is to improve the function and appearance of your smile, there are many other benefits. This includes:

    — Better oral health and reduced risk of disease

    FAQs

    Who needs dental crowns?
    iconicon
Patients with a damaged, decaying, or broken down tooth. Also those with old dental work and some patients who’ve undergone a root canal.

Dental crowns can also be used as a ‘bridge’ to replace a missing tooth - i.e. crowns are placed on adjoining teeth of the gap, and the gap is ‘filled’ with the connecting middle crown.
Can veneers go on crooked teeth?
    iconicon
Dental crowns and bridges start from $1,850 and $4,700 respectively.
What are the different types of dental crowns?
    iconicon
Dental crowns can be made from porcelain (zirconia), gold, metal alloy, or a combination. A dental bridge is typically a set of crowns placed over adjoining teeth to fill in a missing tooth’s gap.
What are the risks of having a dental crown?
    iconicon
Very rarely a patient might experience an allergic reaction to metal crowns. Tooth (crown) sensitivity might occur with hot and cold foods, and the crown might also chip or be dislodged, if not affixed properly. For more detailed information you should visit cronulla beach dental.
Can you tell me how to clean a dental crown?
    iconicon
You clean dental crowns as per normal teeth - brushing and flossing twice daily. You should also see us twice yearly, as per recommended dental care and maintenance. If you experience any bleeding gums, or inflammation, please contact us and we will examine you (and treat if necessary) for gum disease.

    FAQs

    What is composite bonding?
    iconicon
It’s a cosmetic dental procedure treatment, which sees a dentist apply tooth-coloured resin to a chipped, discoloured or misshapen tooth in order to restore its appearance.
Are composite veneers the same as bonding?
    iconicon
Yes – composite resin veneers, composite bonding, dental bonding are all the same treatment – just with different names.
Why would someone need dental bonding?
    iconicon
If a patient has come to us for an emergency dental appointment following an accident – like a broken or chipped tooth, dental bonding is an immediate solution to restore the natural appearance of the tooth – resin is bonded onto the tooth. Similarly, if a tooth is discoloured, shorter or mispositioned, a composite resin veneer can be applied to that tooth, to complement and reflect the other teeth.
How much does composite bonding cost?
    iconicon
Our composite veneers start from $490 per tooth, and this can be paid for using our interest-free finance options.
    How long do they last?
    iconicon
Providing they’re well-looked after, and you avoid food and drinks most likely to cause stains (red wine, coffee, beetroot, turmeric, etc) they can last up to 7 years.
Why would someone choose composite veneers over porcelain veneers?
    iconicon
Composite veneers are significantly less expensive than porcelain veneers, given they have a shorter life-span (up to 7 years vs up to 20 years), are more porous, and are not as structurally strong as porcelain veneers. Composite veneers also require fewer appointments and preparatory work – such as shaving down of the teeth, taking impressions, etc.

    FAQs

How long do dental implants last?
    iconicon
Your dental implants can last for over 25 years with proper care. And the good news is proper care for dental implants means exactly the same thing as it does for your natural teeth. It just means regular brushing and flossing and keeping up with your six-monthly check-up and clean appointments. The fact that dental implants last such a long time is one of the reasons they are an excellent investment in your long-term wellbeing.
Will I be awake during the dental implant procedure?
    iconicon
Rest assured you will feel relaxed and comfortable throughout your implant surgery thanks to IV - or twilight - sedation. You will drift into a peaceful, sleep-like state until your procedure is all done.

And you most likely won’t feel a thing or even remember anything afterwards. We will keep you safe and comfortable during the recovery period until the anaesthesia wears off. But a family member or friend will need to take you home because you will still be a little too drowsy to drive.
    Do dental implants hurt?
    iconicon
This is a very understandable question! And it’s the first thing most people want to know. But the truth is, implant surgery techniques are incredibly advanced these days. And that, together with Dr Daley’s specialised training and gentle skill make the procedure a lot more comfortable than you might expect.

There may be some mild discomfort the day or two after your surgery, but it will be easily managed with over-the-counter medication. Your total recovery and healing time will depend on your medical and dental history, your bone condition prior to treatment, and how many implants are placed.

But healing is usually complete within 3 to 6 months.
Why should I replace missing teeth with dental implants?
    iconicon
While the dental implants procedure may seem relatively big, the difference replacing teeth with implants makes in people’s lives is much bigger.

Dental implants not only make eating and speaking feel comfortable and natural again, they also hugely improve confidence. And on top of all of that, they help prevent any further bone loss or damage to your existing teeth.

When you have missing teeth, your jaw bone will naturally start to recede. Jaw bone loss can affect your facial appearance and facial structure as your cheeks and lips begin to collapse inwards. Dental implants help to stop bone loss and support your facial structure. Dental implants also prevent your existing teeth from moving into the gaps left by your missing teeth. This will help to reduce any added stress on your remaining teeth.
Who is eligible for dental implants?
    iconicon
Most patients who are missing teeth are good candidates for dental implants. However, there are some cases where tooth implants will not work. For example, if you have been missing teeth for a long time and have suffered extensive bone loss, there may not be enough bone to place the titanium post.

Dentist in Cronulla will determine if you are a suitable candidate for dental implants at your first consultation after we take x-rays and assess your teeth, jaw bone and gums.
Why no dairy after dental implant?
    iconicon
It’s not uncommon to feel mild nausea directly following a dental implant procedure involving anaesthesia. Avoiding dairy products for the first 24 hours can help prevent this temporary discomfort and ease recovery.

Focus on staying hydrated with water, which plays a vital role in maintaining oral hygiene. Drinking water helps wash away food particles and bacteria and keeps your mouth moist, which is crucial for healing and preventing infection.
How long after dental implants can I eat normally?
    iconicon
Caring for your mouth is essential during the healing process. Dental implants are a two-stage procedure, and we recommend sticking to soft foods for the first week to allow your implants to settle. You should avoid hard, crunchy, or chewy foods for a few more months to ensure proper healing.
What are the 3 types of dental implants?
    iconicon
There are three main types of dental implants. The most common is the endosteal implant, placed directly into the jawbone. For those with less bone density, a subperiosteal implant can be placed under the gum but above the bone.

In cases of severe bone loss in the upper jaw, zygomatic implants are placed into the cheekbone. Dr Daley will assess your dental health to determine the best option for you.

Porcelain veneers are a safe, proven and effective way to achieve a beautiful, bright and straight smile.

However, it is true that prepping your teeth for veneers is permanent. This does not really 'ruin' your teeth. Your tooth root stays vibrant and healthy in your gum. But it does involve gently reshaping the crown part of your natural tooth.

This allows your cosmetic dentist to create the perfect tooth-shape for your smile.

Because it is so customisable, Invisalign is a terrific option for everyone - including adults. In some rare and complex cases, traditional braces may be more effective. But on the whole, Invisalign is an effective, comfortable and safe solution to a wide range of concerns.

Developed over 20 years ago, Invisalign has a long track record of success. There are thousands of happy people with Invisalign-straight smiles worldwide.
    Does Invisalign hurt?

Invisalign gently and gradually repositions your teeth over time. It is so gradual that patients barely notice it, but there may be a little discomfort sometimes.

However, most people find any discomfort very manageable, and the results are well worth it.

Remember, the great advantage of Invisalign over braces is that you can simply slip out your aligners if you need a break. The special SmartTrack material makes them easy to remove and replace.
What can you eat with Invisalign?

Believe it or not, you can eat absolutely anything while you’re having Invisalign treatment. That’s because, unlike braces, you can take your aligners out when you feel like a meal or snack. There’s nothing food can get stuck in, so you can enjoy life on your terms throughout your treatment.

The same goes for brushing and flossing. You can keep your teeth fresh and sparkling clean, with no harsh metal wires snagging your toothbrush. That’s why Invisalign is such a great option for adults; it won’t interrupt your schedule.
